With October’s LEMA Summit 2024 racing towards us in the calendar, we will be taking the opportunity over the coming weeks to delve deeper into some of the key topics, themes & Roundtable debates that will shape this groundbreaking event for Smart Local Energy Systems.

Joining the LEMA Summit 2024

If you are planning to join likeminded organisations that are motivated to establish commercially sustainable, market led solutions for enabling, deploying and managing repeatable Local Energy Systems, forestalling the impacts of the connections backlog and network reinforcement challenges, you can access the LEMA Summit 2024 via eventbrite.co.uk.

Delving Deeper into our Summit Agenda

The LEMA Summit, held at the historic Leeds Castle, Kent, is a unique opportunity to join senior leaders from across the industry, in both Great Britain and Europe, with organisations that hold a piece of the puzzle in the value chain for successful Local Energy System solutions.

The Summit is a two-day event of inclusive roundtable debates, bookended by our Keynote address from Patrick Allcorn, Head of Local Net Zero at the Department of Energy Security & Net Zero, & a closing address from the Local Energy Market Alliance’s (LEMA) CEO, Simon Anderson.

You will hear from the Chairs of LEMA’s Common Interest Groups about the progress of the initiative in its first 6 months of operation, covering our Data, Networks & Platforms, Consumer First & Place Based workstreams.

Day two will also focus attention on The European Perspective for Smart Local Energy Systems, welcoming our speakers in Dr Jeffrey Hardy of Sustainable Energy Futures and Michael Villa of Smart Energy Europe (SmartEn), as well as guest speakers from both a GB and a European Distribution System Operator (DSO).

The Roundtable Debates

There will be four Roundtables held over the course of the two-day event. They characterise the LEMA Summit as an interactive and enthusiastic discussion, enabling all our collective members & guests to share their perspectives on delivering a successful market framework for Smart Local Energy Systems. We invite all our summit attendees to share their views on the critical considerations, challenges and solution opportunities that exist across the objectives of the LEMA initiative.

The four roundtables planned for this years LEMA Summit will be:

Day 1 Roundtable - Stream A Exploring the potential of a Dynamic Load Averaging contract

Day 1 Roundtable - Stream B Funding & risk guarantees, or Building trust – problem-solving & potential measures

Day 2 Roundtable – Stream A Addressing the data & platform challenges and opportunities

Day 2 Roundtable – Stream B Smart Local Energy Systems on the ground – managing & governing local operating companies?

Over the course of September, leading up to the beginning of the LEMA Summit 2024 on October 1st, we will take a closer look at our key Roundtable summit debates through our Blog Series at lema.energy & or via our Linkedin page.

The LEMA Summit Dinner

This year’s event is also characterised by the LEMA Summit Dinner and the dinner’s guest speaker. The LEMA Summit Dinner is an exclusive opportunity for all our guests to come together at the end of Summit Day 1, for an evening of informal, but no less rich debate, with the prospect of building lasting business relationships with the complimentary organisations critical to your foothold in the delivery of Smart Local Energy Systems.

Book your tickets to the LEMA Summit 2024, the LEMA Summit Dinner and your opportunity to stay overnight in the historic Leeds Castle via eventbrite.co.uk or contact LEMA@gemserv.com for more information about the event of the LEMA initiative.
